“Every pool party (and time spent with the girls) needs a refreshing cocktail! This watermelon margarita is exactly what you’ve been looking for. Cheers to a day off!
“You can use coarse sea salt in place of the chili-lime salt. If you are using the chili lime salt, remember its strong!
So use sparingly.”—The Goldsteins’ Sara GoldsteinAbout ⅛ watermelon (to yield 2½ cups watermelon juice)
½ cup tequila
1 tablespoon curaçao (orange liqueur)
4 tablespoons lime juice
1 teaspoon sugar
Chili-lime salt, for garnish
Lime slice, for garnish

  1. Pour chili-lime salt on a plate.
  2. Rub lime on the edge of a glass.
  3. Dip the edges of the glass into the chili-lime salt.
  4. Blend the watermelon in a blender. Strain the watermelon juice through a strainer.
  5. Combine the juice with tequila, curaçao, lime juice, and sugar.
  6. Pour cocktail into the glasses. Garnish with lime wedge.

 

Yield: 6 cocktails
