1 cup warm water
1 cup plus 1 teaspoon sugar, divided

1 cup orange juice
8 cups flour
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1 cup plus 1 teaspoon sugar, divided
1 cup oil
2 eggs
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup orange juice
8 cups flour
Filling
¾ cup sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamonGlaze
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
¼ teaspoon vanilla sugar
2 teaspoons boiling water
1 teaspoon oil
- Prepare the dough. In a small bowl, combine yeast, water, and 1 teaspoon sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes.
- In a mixer bowl, combine 1 cup sugar and oil, and mix. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add salt and orange juice. Add flour and mix. Add yeast mixture and mix. (If dough is sticky, you can add more flour and oil.)
- Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for two hours.
- Prepare the filling. Combine all ingredients.
- Divide dough into four balls. Roll each ball into a large thin triangle. Generously spread oil over rolled-out dough and sprinkle with cinnamon mix. Starting from the wide side, roll up tightly. Slice and place on baking sheet. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for approximately 25 minutes or until golden brown. For really soft buns, do not overbake!
- Meanwhile, prepare the glaze. Whisk together all ingredients. Let cool and drizzle with glaze.
