After the shoot for this column, I had left behind a little bowl of dressed salad. Esti, the photographer, texted me to say that both she and Elky (Whisk’s “Wholesome” columnist) needed the recipe ASAP as they had enjoyed that little bowl so much. I wished I had left behind a larger bowl they could both enjoy!

¼ cup olive oil
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
juice of 1 lime
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper

For Serving
lettuce of your choice
sliced red onion
cherry tomatoes

  1. Whisk together all dressing ingredients.
  2. Combine lettuce, red onion, and cherry tomatoes in a bowl. Toss with dressing and serve.


Yield: ½ cup dressing; 4 to 6 servings
